Abort or not to abort?

I choose this subject because I´m feminist, a socialist feminist, so I think this is very important to all woman (also trans) in the world. I will go straight to the point: Abortion should be legal, free, safe and costless in any case. All women should have secure the right to do whatever we want with ours bodies.

What´s the problem? The people´s pro life say that the life of the baby is priority, that they are innocent, and some others even say that is the fault of the women for not take contraceptive. So, I will polemicize with this arguments. In the first place why should a baby life be more important that a woman life?, why women need to be in charge about the birth control? I think that the real problem goes beyond. Women aborts every day in every part of the world and a lot of them dies for bad conditions. It doesn't matter a lot if it is legal or not, this is a reality, the only thing that would change is that woman will not die in bad process of abortion. In all countries that have it legalized the number of woman that do this process are the same. What does change are the number of woman that dies for abort... surprise, the number decreases. Th women that won´t want to abort, is okey, the women that want to have the chance to do it, is okey. The significant thing is that we need the right to decide. 

Interested in...

There are many things that I´m interest to do in my life. In my personal life I would like to have a place with enough space to have a lot of dogs and some cats. I really love animals. Also I wish that, with the pass of the years, I don´t lose my desire of been better every day, to grow up, to keep maturing. In the academic and work field I really would like to travel, to do a master degree in Brazil and then go to a country that speaks English. I´m very interested in the idioms, I thing that there are so useful and pretty. 

Besides, in the academic part, I wish I never stop to learn. In this topic I would like to blend the psychology with music, art, corporal expression and more. It is important to me to don´t let these things, that I love, apart. Additionally teaching will be in my life, I’m sure of that.

Some things that I´m not sure if it attracts me is the money, the power and to be famous. The first because I don´t need to much too be happy, just the enough for have animals with me. The second because it goes against my ideology, my expectation is that in the future we will not need hierarchies and people that dominated others. And the last one because I always thing that to be famous it must be exhausting and also people could put themselves beyond the clouds.

master degree? doctorate?

Today I will talk about the post studies like master degree or doctorade. In the first place I hate to talk about this things because I´m really bad proyecting my self in the future, I thing that doing this I will limit what I want to do. Any way I really feel that this is obligatory so here we go.

I would like to keep studing after graduate because I love the university and I really like the knowledge that we can acquire in this space. Also, at least in this moment, I don´t feel ready for enter in the working world.

If I do studies postgraduate probably I will do investigations in psychology. Maybe I will blend the social part of my carrer with the biology part. Likely I will go to the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) because there is free and probably they will pay me for investigate. I would like to study part-time course and if I have spare time I would like to know Brazil. 

Other problem I see that it worries me a little is that maybe I, and other people, will not have the chance to do master or doctor degrees because the need of money, the need to enter in the work world as faster as we can for different problems.

Rewards

Hello again, today I will tell about what I think about the labor and academic fields.

I think that, at least in Chile, it is very annoying that education is not free. 

In this sense, not everyone can enter the university. 

In the other hand, reforms have been made, they are definitely a won for us, 

but they are completely not enough. Chile is the only country in Latin America

that public higher education is paid (because this was change during dictatorship).

On the other hand, working conditions are not much better, the conditions of most 

people life’s are very precarious and with low salaries.

When I graduate as a psychologist I would like to do classes and teach from a very



critical view of the system but also very

motivational in wanting to change it. Also if I work in clinical psychology I

will do things very different from the normal role that takes psychologists, I

will try to never give pills to my consulters or recommend them to go to the

psychiatrist unless I dont have other option and my consulter ask me for.

Today I will talk about something it´s happening to me since I enter on the University.

The last year, I was in Universidad de Chile doing college. There I learned a lot of things but the most shocking knowledge was about politics. I realize that some political party was (and it is) very participative and had interesting ideas. They are the Revolutionary worker´s party (PTR). It is a group that aspires to reach communism but differentiating itself from the Stalinists. My problem with all this is that this political party is really hated by the people (in the university at least) and I sympathize with them, so a lot of people isolate me as well. This left me speechless, that never happened to me in my life. Today, in a new career, starts to pass me again, and it is really sad. I´m upset with that kind of treatments, some persons want to put me out from some spaces. I though that in the Universidad de Chile it would be more tolerant with this things. I hope that eventually the people respect the ideas of others. I want a better society like many…

When I was a child I thought I would be the third women president in Chile, and also I would be veterinary at the same time.

Before enter the university I was really lost in what I want to do. My options were medicine, occupational therapy, music, art, psychology, commercial engineering and veterinary. I study 1 year of college in Universidad de Chile because I thought it would help me to decide my career, and it do. The variety of classes show me that I want to be a psychologist.

In my experience the university is being very fruitful, I have learn a lot of human relationship and politics.

I´m not sure of what I would like to do in the future because it is hard to me to project myself.

Hi, my name is Gabriela and I born in Santiago of Chile in 1999. My dad and my brother born here too, but my mum born in Sao Paulo in Brazil. We are 4 in our family plus my dog. My dad studied occupational therapy and then went to Brazil to study Biology. My mum studied biology in Brazil too. Both of my parents are teachers today. My brother is studing mechanical engineering and is 22. I´m studing psychology.
In my family we all spoke 3 idioms: Spanish, english and portuguese. In addition my grandmother was music teacher and all my aunts, uncles and cousins know how to play at least one instrument. For example I know how to play the guitar, the piano, the ukelele and I sing.
Also I love animals, 2 months before I adopted a puppy, her name is Arya, like the character of Game of Thrones because it is my favorite series.
